KNEE CONSULTATION

at Clínica Lambert

Movement range and stability without pain in the knee joint is essential for performing daily life activities. The knee’s anatomy reflects its function in motion, being a complex articulation between the femur, the tibia, and the kneecap (or patella). The joint cartilage reduces the friction between the bones and the two menisci, located between the femur and the tibia, smoothing the impact experienced by the joint. Excessive movement of the knee is minimized by collateral ligaments and cruciate ligaments. These structures are the most frequently damaged, resulting in pain and reduction or inability to move the affected joint, and should be observed by a specialist as soon as possible. Together with tear and age, knee surgery allows, among others, to repair function and/or relieve pain, enhancing recovery and maintenance of your quality of life.
