My name is Ana Rita Pereira, I am a medical graduate from University of Coimbra (2006) and did several medical internships abroad. I did the residency at Hospital of Caldas da Rainha and in 2007 I finished the post-graduation in body injury evaluation. In 2008, I began working within the field of Legal Medicine at the National Institute for Forensic and Legal Medicine (INMLCF) in Lisbon and did internships in Forensic Clinic and Pathology in South Africa, Colombia and Barcelona. In 2009, I finished the Legal Medicine Course at the University of Coimbra and defended my masters thesis on Violence Against Women in Intimate Relationships in Portugal. I participated in the Domestic Violence National and Municipal Plan for 4 yeas and had the opportunity to publish several articles on issues related to Legal Medicine. I started in the OM Legal Medicine Speciality College in 2013, and I have recognised skills for performing body injury evaluation since 2014. I am also a member of APADAC. Currently, I am finishing the Post-Graduation in Medical Expertise from Social Welfare and I work as a Legal Medicine expertise and produce medical expert reports for Social Welfare in several public and private institutions (Courts, ADSE, CPAS, INMLCF, Insurance Companies).
